Tip #2: Choosing Your Venue

OK, so here is the second tip in "planning your wedding" You're anticipating a flawless wedding. You desire the perfect wedding venue; choose wisely when finding and selecting a wedding venue. It is, after all, where you will share lasting memories with family and friends.

You may have already started your search for the perfect wedding dress. A little advice before finding THE dress, consider the venue. Will your wedding be a church wedding, a garden wedding, beach wedding, etc.? The wedding venue has a lot to do with the style of dress you choose. A specialist at a bridal boutique or salon will have the expertise to help you choose the perfect dress with your venue in mind as well as the perfect dress for your body shape.

Here are some good ideas for that perfect wedding venue

The venue size is vitally important in your decision. Pick a venue that is too tiny and it will be awkward and annoying. On the other hand, the wedding will loose it's intimacy if the venue is too large. The number of guests will dictate the size. You will need an estimate of how many guests you plan on inviting.

Also, check out the area assigned as the bride's room where you and your girls will be getting dressed. Make sure there is plenty of room and good lighting. Remember, your photographer will want to get some photos of some of the final details. The same goes for the groom's room.

Scale your wedding party accordingly. We have photographed weddings that will take place in a small, quaint church but will have a large wedding party. A large wedding party often takes away the focus on the bride and groom and looks too crowded. We are advocates of small wedding parties for this reason!

Trust your intuition. Trusting your instinct is important. If you have a good feeling about the venue then that is a good start. You will know if a particular venue is right for you or not. You should not however leave out the logical choices in choosing a wedding venue and, of course, consider your budget.

Last but not least, keep in mind the photography when choosing a venue. Will this location lend itself well for great photos of your wedding day? Lighting is vitally important! Every bride and groom wants great photos from their big day that they will cherish for a lifetime. We will talk more about photography on the next posting of "Tips For Planning Your Wedding"
